Four new recruits graduated to the Thurmaston Scout & Guide Marching Band on Monday evening.
Performing on their own and with the Band, the Graduates consisting of one Scout and Three Brounies became the latest youngsters to join the Band section within Leicestershire.
Proud father of Daniel Wedd, who is also ADC Scouts for South West Chris Wedd, Said “as a family we are very proud of the time Daniel has put into practising, and was a very special moment watching him perform with the band last night” he went on to say “Thurmaston Band trainee section, is a great way of learning instruments”, Richard Warrington Band master said, “there are no barriers to joining the band what ever your age, you’re never to old to learn”. Thurmaston have broken records by winning The National Traditional Youth Marching Band championship four years consecutively.
Daniel 13 from 42nd Glenfeild Scouts, took up the Trumpet in October 2016. The 42nd Glenfield had it’s own Band in the past and as with many across the County disappeared leaving a handful, which remain strong.
