Antibiotic Guardian Scheme – Leader Training

Why it is relevant to you:without effective antibiotics many routine treatments will become increasingly dangerous. Setting broken bones, basic operations, even chemotherapy and animal health all rely on access to antibiotics that work.

What we need to do: To slow resistance we need to cut the unnecessary use of antibiotics. We invite our members to become Antibiotic Guardians.

Call to action:Complete the badge and Choose one simple pledge about how you’ll make better use of antibiotics and help save these vital medicines from becoming obsolete.  Young people and adults alike are encouraged to make a promise and become antibiotic guardians.

More information on Antibiotic Guardians can be found at http://antibioticguardian.com

This provides an excellent opportunity where members of the county can have a major impact on global health by acting locally as part of our Community Impact agenda, it is what we do! It is what we have always done, look after others!

We have already run a pilot night with Ashby Hastings Scouts, it was a brilliant fun evening. Learning how bugs get passed around and why antibiotics don’t work on a virus.

We aim to provide the necessary information and equipment (for a small fee) in other words a programme on a plate.

Because we want to make sure leaders are happy and confident running the evening we will provide a train the trainer evening on Thursday 1st February 7:00pm – 9:00pm .
