Asda Foundation Leicester 10K

As you may or may not have seen last week we announced the return of the Asda Foundation Leicester 10K, which in 2020 will be taking place on Sunday 9th August. We’re very excited to be returning to Leicester!

So the reason for my email is that I would like to get in touch regarding volunteering opportunities at the event.

Firstly, let me introduce ourselves; Run For All is part of the lasting legacy of the late amateur athlete and fundraiser Jane Tomlinson CBE, who made headlines around the world by taking part in a series of incredible endurance events – despite being diagnosed with an incurable cancer. By 2007 her declining health meant she was unable to take part in any more extraordinary undertakings. However, using the money she raised on her epic American adventure, Jane was able to sow the seeds for the Run For All Leeds 10K – the cornerstone of what would become her continuing legacy.

Today that one run has grown Run For All into one of the UK’s biggest not-for-profit events companies, providing a fundraising vehicle for a huge number of local and national charities. Every year tens of thousands of people take part in our popular events – running for charity, for a personal challenge or just for fun.

As you can imagine, each year we require thousands of volunteers in a variety of roles to ensure our Run For All events go without a hitch and the participants have a fantastic time. It would be amazing to have your support whether that’s a group that can volunteer or individual volunteers; your support is greatly appreciated. It is always a brilliant day to be part of and a rewarding community event for local groups to be involved with. It’s a great opportunity to be involved in an event which allows people to achieve a goal and being part of an event that makes a difference to so many regional and national charities.

We have a number of roles available on event day:

1. Route Marshals – please note, need to be over 18 years old. Approximate Shift Times – 07:30 – 13:30

2. Baggage Marshals – no minimum age just need parental consent. Approximate Shift Times – 07:00 – 13:30

3. Drink Station Marshals – no minimum age just need parental consent. Approximate Shift Times – 08:00 – 13:00

4. Finish Processing Marshals – handing out water/finisher’s goody bags to the runners – no minimum age just need parental consent. Approximate Shift Times – 07:00 – 13:30

For more information on the roles available, please visit our website: https://www.runforall.com/eventeers/eventeers/ or if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I am more than happy to help. If interested then please register you interest on our online entry system (https://eventeers2020.eventdesq.com) or reply to this email to say that you are interested or not available.

Once again, thousands of Eventeers join our community each year and without you Run For All events would not be possible. Our Eventeers are ambassadors whose enthusiasm and commitment creates an atmosphere that sets out events apart from others – high quality, fun, For All.

Best wishes
