29th -1st Womble (Nr Lancaster)

Leicestershire Scouts are proud to announce the launch of  Womble.  An activity team ran by the activities teams for Explorers and  Network the camp will take place at Littledale campsite Nr. Lancaster over the  29th June – 1st July the campers will take place is harder than  normal activities including climbing, caving, walking. mountain biking,  canoeing, eating, karaoke and arm wrestling.

Steve Cole, Deputy County Commissioner and general dogs  body for the weekend said “I’m really looking forwards to fried breakfasts each  morning and singing on the karaoke”   Laura Jones,  ACC Explorers  said “I’m not going caving, it dark wet and will ruin my nails”.

WOMBLE UPDATE

If you are thinking about coming then you need to get a wiggle on.  Bookings are now coming in thick and fast. All the places on mountain biking have now gone, and the others; canoeing, walking, caving and climbing  are filling up.  Book early to avoid disappointment. 

The cost of £40 includes all your food, camp fees and activities for the weekend.    Just get yourself to the camp site on Friday and home again on Sunday.  Leaders who don’t take part in activities will pay £20 to cover accommodation and food.

The camp is open to all Explorers, Network, Young Leaders and Old ones as well.  It would be great to see some different faces on the event.

6th-8th Gilwell 24 (Gilwell)

Gilwell 24 event is a 24 hour long day of activity and challenge running from 09:00 on Saturday straight through until 09:00 Sunday. Stage acts and Fairground rides the night before.

6th-9th Dragnet (Cumbria)

Make your way through a narrow corridor of land in the Cumbrian Lake district covering a distance of around 35 miles. On the way you must avoid capture from teams of experienced catchers who can reduce your chance of winning the competition.

6th-8th  Sun Run 26 Mile Night Hike (Cheltenham)

The Coolest Midsummer Weekend for all older members of the Scouting and Guiding at the hottest event of the year. For Older Explorer Scouts, Senior Section GirlGuides (aged 14 upwards) Scout Network, Leaders, Fellowship, Scout Active Support etc.

6th -8th Big Game Live 2012 

This is a competition run by Nottinghamshire Scouts, which is open to all UK Explorer Scouts. Teams of 5 Explorers have 8 hours to visit and photograph themselves at various locations around Nottinghamshire, making use of the superb Tram and Bus Network, getting as many points as they can to win the game!

This year there are added tasks to complete to gain Bonus points – However these tasks will remain a secret until the event!

A weekend of camping, fun, games and good food! Cost £35 per Explorer, £25 per Leader.

Compete in a demanding ‘Incident Hike’ based around the challenging mixed terrain of Gradbach Scout Camp, on the borders of Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

30th Kinder Walk  (Derbyshire)

A 29km walk aimed at older Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Guides and members of Scout Network. It is a challenge of map reading and stamina in the exciting and rugged area of the Peak District.
