Awards Badge work Beavers Cubs District Explorers External Leaders Network SAS Scouts

Last autumn I went travelling to Africa for 3 months and during this time I spent a month volunteering in Malawi for a Leicester based charity called Love Support Unite Africa Foundation. Having seen first-hand the work they do, how they do it and the impact it has had on the communities there, I can tell you that it is genuinely life changing.
Now I am back I am trying to help them with some fundraising.
They currently have a campaign called Down with Devices, where children are sponsored to down their electronic devices for a weekend or more. Glen Cubs and Scouts will be taking part in the challenge and I’m hoping you’d be able to email other groups in the district to see if they would like to take part. I’d also like to see if we could get the information sent out to all groups in the county if possible. This fundraising can be linked to badges in all sections.
You can see the work the charity does here
I have attached the information pack and I do hope you’ll see that it is for a worthy cause. I am doing a presentation to both Glen Cubs and Scouts about my time volunteering in Malawi, problems those in Malawi face and explaining the Down with devices challenge. I am more than happy to visit the other groups in the district to do a similar presentation if they wish, however I am only available up until the 20th February as I go off travelling on the 21st February.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
