Dear Explorer Scouts, Young Leaders, Leaders and ADC Explorer Scouts
Leicestershire Scouts Caving Team provides caving instruction to young people throughout Leicestershire. We have in the past had fantastic success with Scouts and Guides but Explorers have dropped off. As such we are offering twelve explorer scouts the opportunity to take part in the following:
Three days underground with the caving team, starting with a simple beginner’s system, day two being a vertical trip introducing vertical aspects of caving and the third session being a classic trip including vertical and an active stream way.
One surface session will cover general caving skills, including vertical practice, kit, equipment and navigation.
The team will look to provide transport from either junction 21 of the M1 or Donnington Services, each Explorer will be provided with a caving oversuit, lamp, helmet and harness. They will provide a packed lunch and under clothing, a big bag for the dirty kit, rubber gloves, manners and the want to be there.
A flat rate of £100 is proposed to cover all four sessions and transport.

The small print.
In order to achieve a balanced group of individuals we will limit the number of Explorers to 3 from each group. We may be able to increase this number where we do now have an uptake of all places.
Those attending will be expected to attend all four sessions with no discount being given for not attending an individual session.
