We are delighted to announce that we have two new Team Leaders joining the County team:
– Simon Parr will head up the Programme Team
– Liam Edgley will head up the Volunteering Development Team
Here are a few words from each of them.
Simon Parr

I’m really excited to be stepping into the role of County Programme Team Leader.
Having grown up through Scouting myself – from Beavers right through to leadership roles as Cub Leader, Group Scout Leader, Deputy District Commissioner and Assistant County Commissioner for Cubs – I’ve seen first-hand the difference a strong programme makes all the way from sectional meetings to County events.
My goal is simple: to make sure every young person in Leicestershire has access to safe, fun activities that make Scouting worth coming back for. I’m looking forward to working with our amazing volunteers across Leicestershire to build on our strengths, tackle the challenges, and ensure our programme continues to inspire the next generation.
I’m always open to ideas, feedback, and conversations – so please do get in touch simon.parr@leicestershirescouts.org.uk if you’ve got thoughts to share or want to get involved.
Liam Edgley

I’m thrilled to be joining Team Leicestershire!
I look forward to bringing lots of enthusiasm and excitement to the role, and I especially look forward to meeting and working with everyone.
My whole life has been shaped by Scouting – I even met my fiancé through Network – so I’m delighted I can continue to support the movement by working with you all, after leaving my previous role in Cumbria to move to Leicestershire.
Outside of Scouts, I work in project management for a large engineering company and I am studying a Masters in Project Leadership – all skills and experiences I hope to bring to the role.
Supporting our volunteers is so important – if you’d love to join in on our work, or have any feedback, please do reach out to me (liam.edgley@scouts.org.uk).
Please join us in welcoming Simon and Liam and do get in touch if you would like to get involved in their teams.
